Lucknow Mahotsava or Awadh culture annual Festival in Uttar Pradesh.

 

Lucknow Mahotsava is an important state annual festival of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated in Lucknow, celebrations takes place between 25th November and 5th December , is a cultural extravaganza.

Lucknow Mahotsava is also a shopping delight, as craftsmen from all parts of the country gather here to enthrall the audience with their masterpieces. 

The Mahotsava is also a great event for the food connoisseurs, from Thandai to Kesaria doodh, Kabab- parathas and other mouth watering non-veg exotic dishes are there for them. The Mahotsava offers every delicacy at the most affordable prices.

 A brilliant showcase of the arts, crafts, and above all the heavenly cuisine of this land, the festival is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.The excitement generated by the events such as ekka races, kite flying, cock-fighting and other traditional village games. Thousands of people gather from far and near for the event.

 Lucknow Mahotsava is a celebration of the Awadh culture (the culture of Lucknow of the yesteryears). The festival is organized by the state government and continues for ten days. Colorful processions, traditional dramas, kathak dances in the style of the famous Lucknow gharana, sarangi and sitar recitals along with ghazals, qawalis, and thumri are the prime attractions of this festival

Entry

Entry fee is 10/- and seasonal fee is 50/-. The entry tickets to the mahotsava are available at the entry as well as to other places including malls of the city also

 

Stalls

Lucknow Mahotsava Exhibition would have 250 commercial stalls, 387 crafts stall, 60 pavilion, 45 food stalls, 40 ice creams and beverage stalls and 70 stalls for agricultural fair.

The Fascinating city of Lucknow has ever been associated with a rich tradition of hospitality, exotic cuisine and architectural grandeur. Lucknow attained unparalleled heights of excellence in art, craft and culture during the period of Nawabs. Lucknow Mahotsava is organized every year in the month of November / December to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Lucknow. This year, it will be organized from 25th November to 5th December, 2011 at Regional Park, Sector-L, Ashiyana Lucknow.

 

This year besides Bollywood artistes, famous poets like Surendra Sharma, Pradeep Chaubey, Maanik Sharma, Suresh Upadhyaya, Suman Dubey, Sunil Jogi, Vishnu Saxena and Tejnarain Bechain would gracing the Mahotsav.Lucknowites will also get an opportunity to hear the likes of Gulzar Dehelvi, Majid Deobandi, Nusrat Mehndi, Shabeen Adeeb Rana, Tabassum and Khalid Naiyyar in a mushaira during the 10-day cultural festival. Mahotsava provides an opportunity to hundreds of awarded artisans from more than 20 states of India to display their exquisite handicrafts. The Mahotsava also provides a platform to upcoming talented artists and venue for sportsmen to revive traditional sports and events like Kite competition, Ekka Tinga race, Vintage Car rally etc.
